Sri Lanka Embassy Organizes Promotional Event in Kuwait The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Kuwait participated in a promotional event on the sidelines of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Day Reception on 10 July 2023 at Crowne Plaza Hotel. Over 25 member states and other diplomatic missions based in Kuwait participated in the event. Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Ambassador Sameeh Essa Johar Hayat graced the event as the Chief Guest. The visitors to the event included members of the diplomatic corps, UN agencies, political leaders, business leaders, trade chambers, prominent members of Kuwaiti Society, expats and the mainstream media. The Sri Lanka Embassy showcased the many strengths of Sri Lanka including Ceylon tea, spices, apparels, handicrafts, culture, tourism and the national carrier SriLankan Airlines. The Embassy’s “Tea tasting” station was the centre of attention where the proper way of brewing of Ceylon tea was demonstrated under the guidance of Sri Lanka Tea Board. Ceylon tea of multiple varieties were served to hundreds of visitors. Promotional videos showcasing Sri Lanka’s art, culture, and tourism attractions were shown throughout the event. The Radhika Dance Troupe entertained the audience at the cultural show that followed the ACD reception. Promotional materials in Arabic and English along with tea packs and gift items from the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and the Sri Lanka Tea Board were distributed among the visitors.
