The Sri Lanka Tea Board hosted an orientation program on August 26, 2025, for newly appointed Heads of Missions, focusing on Ceylon artisanal and handcrafted teas.
The event featured presentations and tastings by members of the Ceylon Artisanal Tea Association (CATA) and the Estate Owners Association (Galle-Kalutara). They showcased their unique, handcrafted teas, providing the diplomats with a direct experience of these specialty products.
The Heads of Missions expressed keen interest in the artisanal teas and committed to supporting Sri Lankan manufacturers and exporters. They will assist in securing new business contacts and exploring market opportunities for these products in their respective countries.
Officials from the Sri Lanka Tea Board, including the Chairman and Director of Promotion were also in attendance.
